  1. I think this anniversary warrants much discussion and reflection, not only about our place in the universe, but how we are looking after one tiny speck in the universe – the earth!

    • Agreed. Regardless of whether you are for or against the space program or whether you believe or disbelieve the achievements it has wrought, all things are interrelated and rely on one another.

    • Unfortunately this attitude is quite prevalent and has been for sometime. Ironically, many of thee same people who view the space program to be of little value do not realize how many of the comforts they enjoy are related to the very program they in essence dismiss. That said their attitudes are understandable given the current state of the nation. Many are more concerned about jobs, health care, their children, education, and so on because those of the issues closest to them.
