UN Climate Chief Resigns, Rutan on AGW

Head of United Nations Climate Change negotiations resigns

The Dutch-born Yvo de Boer announced his resignation Thursday, effective July 1, 2010.

At least another unscientific fear monger will soon be gone from the debate (at the U.N.). I won’t be surprised if he ends up at one of the organizations that is trying to reap massive profits via such fraudulent schemes as cap-and-trade at the expense of common people.

Media tries to tie IRS Attack on Tea Party Movement

Newsmax – Media Use Austin IRS Terror Attack to Slam Tea Party Movement

Sad and pathetic that some political organizations with a vested interest in keeping the corrupt status quo in the U.S. government would use one cracked individual’s destructive act to pillory anyone and anything that dares to challenge the system. Truly, truly pathetic on the part of some entrenched special interests and media outlets who’ve bought into the notion that the continuation and expansion of their political agenda is paramount even when detrimental to the entire nation and the freedoms therein.

To use this horrible event as a means to imply the necessity in silencing of dissent, as some seem to be doing, is an abomination. It’s simply a continuation of last summer’s arrogant vitriol by governing elitists and their allies in Washington that if you dissented in any way with the government you are not patriotic, an extremist, or are just a mob undeserving of attention and opinion. Such attitudes denigrating the citizenry’s interests and opinions will only continue to increase the feelings of estrangement, divisiveness, and anti-government sentiment in this country.

In the end the pilot was a deluded, unethical fool who got caught trying to abuse the tax codes and in true narcissistic fashion decided to make himself a supposed martyr and hero of the people by misguidedly attacking the IRS. All he did was confirm his status as a worthless individual,  a murderer of another innocent man, and a would be mass murderer of dozens more of his fellow citizens.

Arizona: Dying and Decayed, Maybe Just Dead

Arizona is in a profoundly sorry state of affairs. Rampant corruption, fiscally irresponsible politicians, dictatorial social engineering agendas, and vapid “leadership” that looks only to pillage the state treasury (which is now virtually non existent) for themselves and their greedy special interest friends. Unfortunately, in a time that should be the greatest hope of change, all that is on the horizon is more of the same: corruption, intransigent political dogma, and fiscal irresponsibility.

The Governor’s Race

While they’re seemingly hundreds of would be GOPers alone going after the seat not counting assorted Democrats and Independents, really there are only a handful or genuinely viable candidates. There’s current Governor Brewer (whom I consider a shill at best, incompetent at her worst, and likely to be demolished in the polls), State Treasurer Dean Martin (not really known for anything and given the mess of the State’s economy would likely be roundly trounced in the polls), AG Terry Goddard (who is somewhat popular at the moment) and the ignored John Paul Mitchell.  I wish there were some truly independent candidates, but there really isn’t. Despite the claims of some Arpaio is a non-factor and would have more power and influence remaining Maricopa Sheriff.

Senate Race

We’ve got John McCain, of course. His would be GOP rivals, Haywoth and Simcox (who apparently decided to drop out) haven’t a real chance against him despite what some would claim. Hayworth is a pompous gasbag tainted by his ties to lobbyists (Abramoff scandal anyone?), something we need less of in Washington, trying to exploit and corrupt the Tea Party movement away from its intent to bring government back under control and into moderate political thought (in spite of the right wing loons trying to co-opt it). So it’s safe to say at this point that McCain will lock up the GOP nomination.

On the Democrat side, I don’t really see one who could defeat McCain at the moment with perhaps Glassman and Gordon having the best shots but I don’t recall if either are even running. I’m sure I’m missing some potential Democrat candidates here and I need to get more information. I’m betting the Dems will let this one go, since McCain claims this will be his last election as a Senator, and wait to either unseat the increasingly ineffectual and hyper partisan Kyl or until McCain’s seat becomes open.

The independents are effective shooting themselves in the foot by not exploiting American’s disgust and getting their candidates out there. That in and of itself is more telling about the true nature of the so called independent parties: their willingness to complain but not to take action when opportunity presents itself. It’s still early of course, but not looking good for them.

AZ CD 04

Unfortunately the buffoon Pastor will likely claim the district again thanks largely to the cowardice of Arizona’s politicians to call him out from his puppet masters in the DNC.

What I wouldn’t give for some decent, fiscally responsible, moderate leadership for this state!

AZ Slashing Minimum Wage?

Arizona’s minimum wage could be slashed for young workers – Phoenix Arizona ABC15 News | ABC15.com

Yep, the infinite stupidity of Arizona’s politicians continues unabated. Worse are the pathetic excuses for further harming Arizona’s working class. Perhaps the most ludicrous was a claim by one politician that cutting the minimum wage would create more jobs. The idiot, of course, ignored the fact that it would actually lower state tax revenues, cost people already in low wage jobs what little they make by dropping their pay nearly two dollars. But then these scum bags supporting the measure think no one will complain because by intentionally discriminating against the young (i.e. anyone under the age of 22) by trying to dismiss young people as having no responsibilities or needs.

I’m not surprised. These are the same type of scumbags destroying Arizona that support the “Cubs Tax” (i.e. corporate welfare). Hell even MLB doesn’t want it, probably because they know it’s just going to piss off local Arizonans who are being taxed to death already.

2010 Olympics

The 2010 Olympics are upon us and being this Friday, February 12, with ski jumping qualifications and the opening ceremony. I think maybe the only sport I’m uninterested in is curling. Hopefully broadcasts will be a little more balanced in their coverage in some sports, but that’s difficult given the limited airtime.

Kazakhstan diversifies satellite suppliers

Kazakhstan to diversify satellite suppliers in future | International Space Fellowship

Kazakhstan will not name Russia as a privileged supplier of satellites and will announce international tenders after the launch of its KazSat-2, the head of the Kazakh space agency said on Tuesday.

Somewhat interesting given the potential market for satellites and launch facilities. More interestingly will be if Russia can get the new space center at Vostochny completed by the planned 2018 deadline. The Космодром Восточный (Eastern Spaceport) is expected to have several launch pads for both manned and unmanned flights and being inside Russia is expected to be more cost effective than continued rental of the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Proposed 2011 NASA Budget

NASA budget for 2011 eliminates funds for manned lunar missions – washingtonpost.com

I wish I could say I did not see this coming but I did. NASA does have some serious internal problems regarding their mission, often corrupted by political machinations, and most effective use of their time and money. It is these problems that have led to the rising number of private space firms that may very well one day surpass NASA. Not yet, but easily within twenty years given current trends.

Even if the economy was good, NASA would have been hit because of the political winds in Washington trying to push their social agendas without care for advances in science and technology that don’t push the politicians narrow minded agendas. NASA is a favorite target given few Americans have even the slightest concept of just how little funding the space agency gets. Combine that with the average American’s ignorance of what benefits they get from the agency and your guaranteed to see their budget cut with little complaint from the unaware masses.

Obama’s $3.8 Trillion Budget

Obama’s $3.8 Trillion Budget Boosts Defense, Education Spending — Politics Daily

So much for the President’s vaunted claims of getting government spending under control. Any politician supporting budgets proposals that add to the debt and increase the deficit should be thrown out of office. The American people are not the Federal government’s slaves to be raped and pillaged at the whims of irresponsible fools.

What’s needed is genuine fiscal constraint. The American people will understand the need to end unnecessary spending like pork projects and so-called “job stimulus” packages. So too will they understand the need to end tax credits and temporary tax cuts during this poor economic time so that all are paying their full and complete fair share of taxes and reduce the strain on revenues needed for programs. The military will understand not getting $160 billion that they didn’t ask for in the first place. Homeland security will understand that they don’t need a 2% increase that could be recouped by simply eliminating the massive wasted spending in that department already. College students will understand if there is not a increase in Pell grants. Tech firms will understand that they should not get federal funds for their clean energy technology.

Why would all these accept these? Because, if they are genuinely honest with themselves, they know that such things are unnecessary and unsustainable. Those intellectually honest people with integrity know that to accept such unnecessary spending will only further burden themselves, their future generations and their fellow Americans, leading to greater economic decline and perhaps even eventual collapse that would leave everyone destitute and in universal poverty.

The age of fiscal responsibility is at hand. The rampant and selfish greed and corruption from the government on down to the individual can no longer be tolerated when it threatens the whole. Those, like the President, who support such activities can no longer be allowed to have any influence in such decisions as they willingly destroy the future of all for their selfish short sighted gain. People such as these lay blame to those before them, even when they too were among the ones making the decisions, in order to deceive and deny that reality they created so they can continue their destructive ways while denying their own corrupt nature. The future can no longer be mortgaged, condemning future generations to economic slavery and eroded quality of life.

The steps to starting fiscal responsibility is simple:

  • No more pork projects.
  • No more stimulus bills.
  • No more bailouts.
  • No corporate well fare in any form.
  • Mandatory open bids for all government contracts.
  • No more gimmicky tax breaks and credits. Keeping the tax rate constant would better serve in determining and designing budgets that the yearly mickey mouse games the American people have to go through every year. An individual or couple do not deserve special dispensation because they chose to buy a house or a car. Giving such abreak unfairly burdens the rest who have to make up for the loss through either higher taxes or an increase in the national debt.
  • Reform tax codes so both individuals and business can operate without fear of being targeted.
  • Balanced budget requirements without any extensions or loopholes for any reason.
  • No more Fed bailouts of States. The State governments need to bring themselves under fiscal control knowing the Fed will no longer cover their corruption.
  • Finance reform to end speculators and financial institutes from continuing their dangerous practices.
  • Mandatory government spending freezes until the debt is gone.
  • Mandatory government wage freezes for all (including politicians) until the debt is gone.
  • End wasteful government programs or hand them over to more cost effective and efficiently run private sector businesses (i.e. The U.S. Postal Service and AmTrack).

It’s not easy and may take time, but in the end it will be worth it to all.
